"At the brand new Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, the architects gave the patients and their families seats at the drafting table." This a a wonderful article where architectes and designers listened to the client and worked with them, through the design process, on making a hospital that serves all of its clients well. Please make sure to take a look at the design guide PDF download link, about half way down the article. This will give you more detail insight on how they investigated design ideas. http://www.fastcompany.com/blog/ellen-mcgirt/strike-indicator/and-little-child-shall-lead-them

I like this article. I'm going to share it with my students as we start our next design based project. I like how it reinforces all of the "design rules", especially keeping the client in mind at all times. This is a great way to model what the design process is supposed to look like.
